Do you need to grout your backsplash in the kitchen?
You should always check with the store where you purchased your tile on installation instructions. Although grout will not add to the stability of the backsplash tile installation, you will still need to grout the tile. Even if the grout lines are small, they will need to be filled with grout. If you do not grout them it will leave them open to the possibility of food and water getting into the openings and the possibility of damaging the tile and wall.
There are a few no grout tiles, i.e. vitrified tiles. If your tile project is in a dry area, you can install this tile without grout. These tiles are made of clay dust and are straight and square and can be installed next to one another with no joint. Due to the type of this tile, it is not recommended for the kitchen.
