What are the stages of drywall installation or repair?

Installing brand-new drywall will follow a slightly more involved process than drywall repair. After we locate the potential problem for drywall repair, we’ll start by cutting a patch out of the drywall. Then, we’ll sand and clean the area to ensure it lays flush with the rest of your wall.

Once completed, we will apply a mesh drywall patch and cover the patch with a heavy-duty drywall compound. After the compound is applied, it will need some time to set and cure. Once cured, we’ll sand it down again to create a clean, flat finish. After the second round of sanding, your wall will be ready for priming and painting with no hole or crack in sight!

Can you paint drywall?

To paint drywall, you must first make sure the surface between the drywall sheets is flat. Then, it is important to use the correct primer or type of paint. Because drywall is porous, without suitable materials, you run the risk of it absorbing the paint and leaving you with a streaking and uneven finish.

How long does repairing or replacing drywall take?

Repairing or replacing drywall can take up to an hour to several days, depending on the size and complexity of the drywall repair service.
