Mr. Handyman of Lake Mary Joins National Day of Lake Mary Service
Repair Services donated to the Safehouse of Seminole
To celebrate the Mr. Handyman 2010 National Day of Service and to give back to the community, Mr. Handyman of Lake Mary will be performing repair and maintenance jobs for worthy causes -- all without collecting in Sanford, FL a single penny in labor costs.
As part of President Obama's request to renew America through volunteerism, Mr. Handyman, a full-service home repair and maintenance franchise and the No. 1 employer of handymen nationwide, will paint, build bunk beds and do everything in between during their National Day of Service on Sept. 10.
Locally, Mr. Handyman of Lake Mary will be donating two Mr. Handyman technicians to install a small deck, secure a swing set, assemble bunk beds as well as paint the interior of the Safehouse of Seminole.
"We are thrilled to be working with the Safehouse of Seminole as part of Mr. Handyman's National Day of Service campaign," said Chad Olson, owner of the Mr. Handyman of Lake Mary. "We are always looking for ways to give back to our community and we are excited to be a part of a national operation to help organizations in need."
More than 300 U.S. and Canadian locations will rally around the cause and donate their skilled technicians' time to a local charity of choice. Ideally, company executives at the franchise system's national headquarters aim to donate more than 300 hours of work to homeless shelters, hospitals, senior care centers, schools and churches, as well as non-profits and other community service organizations.
"Mr. Handyman is an international brand, made up of entrepreneurs who live and work in local communities," said Todd Recknagel, president and chief executive officer of Mr. Handyman, International. "We hope to come together as a group and make a large-scale impact on a single day."
